Puerto Rico 2021
Nov 08, 2021It's been a while since I last posted on my Blog. I wasn't on the blog site so much mostly due to the fact that I didn't renew my original domain that hosted this site. This issue should be fixed soon once I get the domain registered. For now I appreciate everyone using the original heroku link. Anyway, back to the subject of this post. I remember working around 8pm and I got a phone call from my friend Christian. I didnt think it was anything serious so I picked up and the first thing he told was: 'yo, were buying ticket to puerto rico for September 1st. I already bought my ticket and Wasif is about to buy his. Buy yours right now'. I was surprised because this literally came out of no where. However, when I figured out that 3 other people bought their tickets I didnt hesitate to get mine. Also, just to inform you all. We bought the tickets a month in advance so the total was really cheap. It was around $230 for a round trip ticket. Fast forward to September 1st. We board our flight and 4 hours later we're in the awesome island where the weather is hitting just right. First thing we noticed when we arrived was that our phones had no signal whatsoever. Turns out that the T-mobile cell tower has some power outage that caused a lot of phones to have absolutely no signal. Including mine. Anyway. Puerto Rico was a blast. We stayed in Old San Juan, literally right across La Perla which is where the shot 'Despacito'. We were near lots of attractions which kept us entertained the whole day. At night, we would go to San Sebastian and enjoy the crazy night life. However, due to the pandemic and an increase in Covid cases, Puerto Rican authorities placed a 12am curfew. So, we had to party a little earlier than usual. Friday night was my favorite night. We partied it up in the bars of San Sebastian until it was midnight. However, that didnt stop us at all. We ended up meeting some locals who told us about how the night life in La Perla doesnt stop regardless of the mandated curfew. They took us down there but we had to be a little careful since La Perla is known for being a pretty bad part of San Juan. La Perla is known for having drug deals left and right on the street and home to some drug lords. That being said, it you didn't do anything to attract attention like film the sketchy transactions then you should be fine. When we arrived, it was packed. like really packed. Also, even though I did drink a lot that night, I did notice that most of the people there were locals. Which was cool because it made me feel like a local as well. I kept on taking some more shots and ate a hamburger as well. After that, we decided to go back home and call it a night. In the following morning. We went over to Crash Boat Beach which was really nice. Part of it being that the water was pretty clear. They also had a deck in which you could jump out of. We had a good time and afterwards we went to a place called Piñones which is known for having a bunch of food kiosks. Food turned out great but was wait was kind of long since they ran out of some ingredients. Some other places we went to was El Yunque National Rain Forest and Condado which is known for its fun night life. This trip was amazing even though it was only for 5 days. There is plenty more I would like to do when I go back. Most likely I will go back especially since the tickets are really cheap. After going, i wasn't surprised it was the hotspot for the summer.,
